This Aß fragment inhibits Aß protein fibrillogenesis, disassembles preformed fibrils in-vitro and prevents neuronal death induced by fibrils in cell culture. It reduces amyloid-protein deposition in-vivo and completely blocks the formation of amyloid fibrils in a rat brain amyloidosis model.
