Pancreastatin (PST), originally isolated from porcine pancreas, is a 49-amino acid peptide with a C-terminal glycine amide. PST and chromostatin are chromogranin A (CGA)-derived peptides. PST has a general inhibitory effect on secretion in many exocrine and endocrine systems. It has been associated with a glucose and lipid metabolism in the liver and adipose tissue.
