This fibronectin-binding peptide, derived from the second type I repeat of thrombospondin, is an inhibitor of the fibronectin-mediated interactions of cells with collagen in the extracellular matrix. It is completely conserved in the second type I repeats of mouse and human thrombospondin-1 and thrombospondin-2 from mouse and chicken.
