Aß (17-42) or p3 is a major Aß peptide in Down’s syndrome cerebellar pre-amyloid and Alzheimer’s disease tissue pre-amyloid. It is also present in low quantities in neuritic plaques. Pre-amyloid can be defined biochemically as lesions in which the major Aß peptide is p3.
