This peptide belongs to caloxins, the extracellular plasma membrane (PM) Ca2+ pump inhibitors. Caloxin 3A1 inhibits plasma membrane calcium pumps (PMCAs) but not the sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-pump.
