This is amino acids 91 to 114 fragment of the rat myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG). Peptides derived from this sequence 91 to 114 were able to induce overt clinical signs of disease accompanied by demyelinated CNS lesions. The discrepancy between poor capacity to activate autoreactive T cells and the strong potency to induce an autoimmune disease has been observed for this epitope in RT1n rats. The severity of the disease induced by this antigen may not solely determined by autoreactive T cells.
