This is amino acids 1 to 20 fragment of the myelin basic protein, MBP. MBP induces immune reactivity in multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the CNS. This sequence contains at least three T-cell immunodominant epitopes: MBP (1-9), MBP (9-20), and MBP (5-20).
