KR-12 is the smallest active segment of LL-37, a peptide derived from the C-terminal domain of human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide (CAMP). KR-12 exhibits antimicrobial activity specifically against gram-negative bacteria by inducing lateral-phase segregation within the bacterial membrane.
