This peptide is derived from the connecting segment region (CS1) of Fibronectin, amino acids 1978 to 1985. CS1 is a competitive inhibitor of Very Late Antigen-4 (VLA-4) binding to Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1 (VCAM-1) and contains the essential LDV tripeptide motif, which is a ligand for many integrins.
