This peptide is histone H3 58-89 with trimethylation at Lys79 followed by a C-terminal GGK with biotinylation on the side chain of this Lys. Lys79 methylation is mediated by DOT1 protein in vitro and in vivo. Trimethylated Lys79 histone H3 is the most abundant form of Lys79 methylation found in vivo. Methylation at Lys79 limits transcriptional repression to discrete loci by inhibiting the binding of Sir proteins to other locations. Provided at >95% peptide purity, this peptide was dissolved in distilled water at 1 mg/ml and re-lyophilized to powder form.
