This peptide is histone H3 (1-21) with asymmetrical dimethylation at Arg2 and trimethylation at Lys4, followed by a C-terminal GGK with biotinylation on the side chain of Lys. Asymmetrical dimethylation of Arg2 is associated with transcriptional silencing and typically inhibits Lys4 methylation in vivo. Trimethylation of Lys4, which is catalyzed by Set1, is associated exclusively with active euchromatic genes. Provided at >95% peptide purity, this peptide was dissolved in distilled water at 1 mg/ml and re-lyophilized to powder form.
