This peptide is histone H3 (1-21) with symmetrical dimethylation at Arg2 and dimethylation at Lys4, followed by a C-terminal GGK with biotinylation on the side chain of Lys. Dimethylation of the guanidinium group of Arg2 is associated with transcriptional silencing. Set1 methyltransferase catalyzes dimethylation of Lys4, which has been associated with inactive and active euchromatic genes. Provided at >95% peptide purity, this peptide was dissolved in distilled water at 1 mg/ml and re-lyophilized to powder form.
