This peptide is histone H3 (1-21) with asymmetrical dimethylation at Arg2 and dimethylation at Lys4, followed by a C-terminal GGK with biotinylation on the side chain of Lys. Asymmetrical dimethylation of Arg2 is associated with transcriptional silencing and typically inhibits Lys4 methylation in vivo. Set1 methyltransferase catalyzes dimethylation of Lys4, which has been associated with inactive and active euchromatic genes. Provided at >95% peptide purity, this peptide was dissolved in distilled water at 1 mg/ml and re-lyophilized to powder form.
