PEGylation has become a well-accepted method for the delivery of biopharmaceuticals-especially
peptide and protein drugs.1-4 Simple modification of a drug with
polyethylene glycol (PEG) not only is capable of improving the drug’s solubility,
diminishing the potential for aggregation, and minimizing interference for both
in vitro and in vivo applications, but is also able to protect
it from proteolytic digestion, increasing its half-life in biological applications
in the process.1-4
