PRAME (Preferentially Expressed Antigen of Melanoma), first isolated as a human melanoma antigen recognized by cytotoxic T cells (CTL), is frequently expressed in a variety of cancers. The PRAME gene can be detected in some of the hematological malignancies, neuroblastomas and normal testis. PRAME is a promising marker for detection of minimal residual disease (MRD) in patients with leukemia and a particularly attractive target for immunotherapeutic strategies in neuroblastoma.
