This 39-mer peptide is a biotinylated substrate for phosphatidylinositide-dependent kinase 1 (PDK1). Biotin is linked to the N-terminus of the peptide through an LC (6-carbon linker). PDK1 has a C-terminal pleckstrin homology domain that aims at phosphoinositide lipids on the plasma membrane. It is central to the activating protein kinase B, a protein that mediates biological responses to insulin and growth factors.
