Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) belong to a family of secreted or membrane-associated zinc endopeptidases capable of digesting extracellular matrix components. ^1,2 They are involved in many aspects of both physiological processes and pathological conditions such as tumor development and metastasis, ^3,4 rheumatoid arthritis. ⁵ As a result, compounds that inhibit MMP activity are considered promising therapeutic agents.⁶

AnaSpec, Eurogentec Group, is pleased to release 11 MMP inhibitors to complement our wide offering of MMP SensoLyte^® 520 and 490 fluorimetric kits, colorimetric kits, recombinant proteins, and Z-Fish™ antibodies (antibodies specific for zebrafish). These MMP inhibitors are small molecules and act as either potent broad-spectrum inhibitors or selective inhibitors of MMPs. They can be used as reference compounds for validating new MMP assays, and/or for identifying novel MMP inhibitors.
