gp91 TAT Peptides

gp91- part of the NADPH oxidase enzymatic complex

In the kidney, there are many enzymatic systems that contribute to the production of Reactive Oxygen Species, including nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase. NADPH oxidase has been considered as the major source of superoxide in the kidney, and its action relies on an enzymatic complex with five subunits, including gp91phox.

This peptide is composed of gp91phox sequence linked to the human immunodeficiency virus-tat peptide. The tat sequence facilitates the entry of this peptide into all cells. It is used as a peptide inhibitor for NADPH oxidase assembly.
