Physiological and neurological indicators
AnaSpec offers a broad selection of physiological and neurological indicators (such as Fura-2, Indo-1, and Rhod-2) for various biological applications with high quality and competitive prices. AnaSpec strives to provide the highest-purity indicators available anywhere. Our UltraPure Grade AM esters of fluorescent indicators are typically at least 95% pure by HPLC analysis, although purity often exceeds 98%. Furthermore, we offer custom package service for the AM esters of many of our Ca2+ indicators within minimal charge for your convenience and for reduced risk of deterioration during storage.
Application of indicators
Fluorimetric detection of physiological and neurological signals has received great attention in the past two decades. The use of molecular fluorescence or luminescence for sensing physiological and neurological signals present several advantages.
Among these are high sensitivity (down to the single molecule), on-off switchability, feasibility of live cell communication, subnanometer spatial resolution with submicron visualization and submillisecond temporal resolution.
Photoinduced electron transfer (PET) and electronic energy transfer (EET) are predominantly applied for the transduction of discrete and stoichiometric recognition events into fluorescence signals. A large number of fluorescent physiological indicators (as described below) are developed on the basis of PET effect.
Calibration standards. AnaSpec offers reference standard for measuring fluorescence quantum yield in conjugating applications or for calibrating fluorescence instruments.
