Position

We are looking for a R&D Chemist who is creative, self-motivated, possesses a forward looking vision and strong troubleshooting skills in organic synthesis. This individual must have an innovative spirit and seeks to continue researching for new methods/products. This individual must be able to manage multi-tasks routinely, handle custom peptide synthesis techniques, be accountable for managing all phases of their assigned projects from concept through to release, and ensure adequate prioritization and timely execution of the projects. This individual will work closely with Synthesis, Purification, QC, Sales & Business Development, and Production. Strong experience in peptide chemistry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works on the development of new methods/new products
• Keeps abreast of current technological trends and developments
• Takes an active role in generation of Intellectual Property through patent generation
• Synthesizes custom peptides-based products using solution phase and/or solid phase in multi-gram or kilo gram scale
• Designs peptide synthesis/purification strategies, and perform the synthesis and improvement when needed
• Must continue to innovate and research for new methods/products
• Shares new ideas with team members and other departments
• Be able to work independently and as a team


Requirements

• Ph.D. in organic chemistry or equivalent experience
• Strong background in organic and peptide chemistry
• A high degree of creativity is required
• Forward looking vision and a passion for science
• Strong peptide synthesis using SPPS and solution phase method preferred
• Work experience in biotech/life science industry environment preferred
• Must be organized and detail oriented
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Experience working in a global atmosphere is a plus.
