The Inventory Control Specialist is a detail-oriented key participant in the order fulfillment and inventory control processes. Use your expertise to make a difference in disease research and drug discovery around the world. We manufacture custom and catalog products that are employed by scientists from biopharmaceutical corporations and top-tier academic institutions, to actively study such diseases as Alzheimer’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, Cardiovascular disease, Diabetes, COVID and so much more.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills sales orders including product weighing/packing/labeling, product picking, documentation, inventory replenishment and organization
- Maintains excellent records and documentation
- Posts inventory transactions and movement of inventory in SAP
- Prepares appropriate shipping documentation
- Issues backorder notices to production
- Reviews and processes purchase orders for accuracy and conformance to company policy
- Participates in cycle counts and annual physical inventory counts
- Maintains and reviews records of items purchased, costs, and delivery
- Assists as a back-up to shipping & receiving as needed, utilizing FedEx / UPS / freight companies to coordinate outgoing shipments
- Ensures implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of QMS through SOP documentation
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supply chain environment
- Hands-on experience in inventory process and control, preferably in a biochemical related industry
- Intermediate level computer skills and working knowledge of MS productivity software
- Experience using SAP preferred
- Good mathematical skills and working knowledge of scientific unit conversion
- Able to use scientific instruments, tools and fixtures
- Able to lift 30lbs and be on his/her feet for up to 6 hours per day
- Able to work some overtime during weekdays or on weekends
- Able to work for short periods of time in cold temperature controlled areas
- Knowledge of space utilization and of storage organization and FIFO process
- Knowledge of purchasing processes a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
