The Senior Chemist will perform hands-on organic synthesis techniques and be responsible for managing all phases of their assigned projects from concept through to product release. They will ensure adequate prioritization and timely execution of assigned projects. This position provides technical training experience to team members within the various chemistry departments. As a member of the Synthesis department, the Senior Chemist will work closely with the Purification, QC, and Sales & Business Development departments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform peptide production, process development and improvement
• Synthesize fluorescence dyes
• Synthesize dye conjugated amino acids
• Perform various conjugations, including dye-labeling, FRET, and others
• Perform peptide or other molecule analysis using MALDI-MS, LC-MS, HPLC, TLC, -UV-Vis, and NMR
• Perform methodology studies (R&D) on peptide synthesis and peptide purification
• Be able to work independently and as a team

Requirements:

• Ph.D. or MSc in organic chemistry or equivalent experience.
• Strong Organic background, perform multi-step synthesis.
• Writing technical SOPs and technical reports.
• Work experience biotech/life science industry environment preferred.
• Experience in instrumentation (analytical and synthesis).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Experience working in a global atmosphere is a plus.
• Proficient in computer skills (MS Office, data analysis, ChemDraw, others).

Salary Range: : $80-$90K
